Macaroni Cheese - Narrative

Reflection
I was learning to write a narrative.
A narrative is a fiction story where the main character has a problem of some sort, and the problem gets bigger and bigger until the main character finds a solution to it.
I found this activity tricky because there were a lot of things I wanted to add, but there wasn't enough space for it, and because I have done a lot of stories, but not really finished them, so this was tricky because I had to finish it.
My next steps are to write a different narrative.

Elapsed Time Maths Activity

Reflection
I was learning to say exactly how many years, months and days between two dates.
I could/couldn't find the correct times.
I found this activity easy/tricky/hard because
My next steps are to say exactly how many years, months and days there is between bigger and more complex dates.

Treacher Collins Syndrome - Wonder Activity

Reflection
I have been reading the novel, Wonder, by R.J. Palacio.
The main character, August Pullman, is claimed to have a face deformity.
It is called Treacher Collins Syndrome.
In this activity we have been researching this particular condition, and writing what we learnt in here.
I found this tricky because Treacher Collins Syndrome is a very complicated condition, and there was a lot to read about it because it is so complex.
My next steps are to research another condition/disease and do this again but with the chosen one instead.

Brainstorm

'
This is my brainstorm for a narrative I am planning to write.

Wonder Acrostic Poem - Kindness

Reflection
I am learning about acrostic poems and kindness.
In this activity I had to create my own acrostic poem about kindness.
I was able to write a sentence for every letter of the word - the sentence had to start with one of the letters of the word and it had to be about something to do with kindness.
I found this a little tricky because there were two n's and two s's as well, so I had to think of two for those letters.
I got a bit of help from my teacher with thinking of the other 'n'.
My next step is to do another acrostic poem for a longer word.

Wonder Poster

Reflection
We have been reading the book, Wonder, written by R. J. Palacio.
On the cover of this book it has an abstract representation of the main character, August Pullman.
In this activity we were able to make our own abstract picture of ourselves on a website, using the same technique as Ted Carpenter (the illustrator of Wonder) used while making the cover and inside pictures in Wonder.
I found this easy and fun because I like customizing characters and people, and I have had a lot of practice with it.

Wonder Part 5 - Grammar and Vocabulary Challenge

Reflection
I am learning about grammar and vocabulary.
In this activity I had to fix one of the character's writing by putting the correct punctuation and capitalizing the write words.
I was able to write the meanings of the different vocabulary words and match them to the sentence that it originally came from.
My next step is to do another similar follow-up, but with harder and more complicated words.
