Counting Money and Giving Change
I am learning to recognise the value of NZ coins to add, total and give change.
It was a little bit tricky for the last one. After I thought about it I could do it. I learned to work out the difference.
Well done Celeste. Remember to think the problem through and take your time. It will be easier for you to go shopping and know how much change you should get. Mrs T 16.11.16

Predicting, Inferring and Exploring Vocabulary
I am learning to predict, make inferences and explore vocabulary
I found it hard to answer some of the questions. I can read everything very easily but I had to go back to find some answers. Next time, I need to share ideas with others in my group to help me. Celeste 16.11.16
This was a tricky task to challenge you and your understanding of what you read. Next time, I agree you can learn lots from talking about your shared understandings rather than rushing to answer straight away.

Describing a Storm
To be successful I will choose interesting words to describe what I see, hear and feel during a storm

Kiwi Dog - Comprehension Questions
I have been learning to show my understanding of a text by answering questions about what I have read at Level 20-21
It was easy to read the words but it was kind of hard to think about the answers. I had to look in the book again for bits I didn't know.
I think you did really well Celeste. Just remember to look carefully in the text for information and clues. e.g. There are no crocodiles in New Zealand.

Alliterated Sentences
Alliteration
I am learning to write alliterated sentences.
Celeste is certainly smart.
"First I wrote all the words that start with the 's' sound, then I wrote a sentence. It was a litle tricky, but it was fun."

Counting On
I am learning to count on from the bigger number.
“First I rolled a 5 and a 6. Then I changed it around so it was 6 plus 5. Then I put 6 in my head and I counted five more using my fingers.”

Swimming
I have been learning to swim with my head in the water. It is a bit tricky but I am practising so I am getting better.
My Family
My family is from New Zealand. There are four people in my family. I like to go to Rainbows End and ice-skating with my family. We play as many games as we can, we make them up so we don’t run out of games.

In writing I have been writing about my family. I have been learning to use capital letters and full stops in the right places.
I enjoyed writing about my family and I did really well at getting all my capital letters in the right places.
